Inverted Jenny is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Claire Epting, hailing from Huntington Beach, CA. She crafts a spellbinding mix of shoegaze-tinged dream pop that conjures a hazy soundscape garnering similarities to Mazzy Star, Tame Impala, and Melody’s Echo Chamber

Throughout college, Inverted Jenny performed solo and with a full band at several venues in the surrounding Orange County area, getting the opportunity to open for Hot Flash Heat Wave and Boy Scouts. Epting was employed at her campus radio station, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the local music scene. Upon graduation, Epting brought Inverted Jenny to her new home of Atwater Village, Los Angeles, where she began cutting her teeth at local venues The Mint and Silverlake Lounge.  Meanwhile, she recorded debut single, “Untitled Dream #3”, in an intimate garage studio.

Epting’s song-writing takes inspiration from many sources. A one-time film student, she has immersed herself in the works of Wes Anderson and David Lynch. An avid admirer of nature, Epting takes frequent road trips to soak in the vast desert and lush forest. These things trickle their way into Inverted Jenny’s music, a reflection of a modern woman with an old soul.

"Inverted Jenny comprises the warm beauty of lo-fi music."

"Catchy, great lyrics, strong songwriting, in the same vein as Beach Fossils or Best Coast."
